Thean Hou Temple

Every year on the second day of Chinese New Year, we will drive to Bentong to have lunch with the relatives. On the way my family will drop by Thean Hou Temple in Kuala Lumpur to pay their respect and to pray for a good year for them. As for me, I went around the temple snapping pictures while waiting for my family/.

Blessings from parents

Every year on the first day of Chinese New Year after the vegetarian breakfast, we will change into our new clothes and make Chinese Tea to pay respect to our parents. Each of us took our turns to offer the tea to our parents and wish them Happy New Year, good health, long life and prosperity. And in return after our parents drank the tea, they will give their blessings to us and also an ang pow each :) I had recorded a short video of my mom wishing us all and it was really cute and meaning but I was not able to upload it ... maybe one day when I can figure out how to upload, I will put up the video.

The will of God

Received this email from a dear friend .. thought I will share it :) It spoke to me.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the grace of God cannot keep you,
Where the arms of God cannot support you,
Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs,
Where the power of God cannot endow you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the Spirit of God cannot work through you,
Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you,
Where the army of God cannot protect you,
Where the hands of God cannot mould you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the love of God cannot enfold you,
Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you,
Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears,
Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears,
Where the Word of God cannot feed you,
Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you,
Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you.

"Everything happens for a purpose. We may not see
the wisdom of it all now, but trust and believe
in the Lord that everything is for the best."

The way to be anxious about nothing is to
be prayerful about everything.

I found this from my dear friend's blog and it speaks to me.... who am I ...

by Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Who am I? They often tell me I would step from my cell's confinement calmly, cheerfully, firmly, like a squire from his country-house.

Who am I? They also tell me I would talk to my warders freely and friendly and clearly, as though it were mine to command.

Who am I? They also tell me I would bear the days of misfortune equably, smilingly, proudly, like one accustomed to win.

Am I then really all that which other men tell of?
Or am I only what I myself know of myself,
restless and longing and sick,
like a bird in a cage, struggling for breath, as though hands were compressing my throat,
yearning for colors, for flowers, for the voices of birds,
thirsting for words of kindness, for neighborliness,
trembling with anger at despotisms and petty humiliation,
tossing in expectation of great events,
powerlessly trembling for friends at an infinite distance,
weary and empty at praying, at thinking, at making, faint, and ready to say farewell to it all?

Who am I? This or the other?
Am I one person today, and tomorrow another?
Am I both at once? A hypocrite before others, and before myself a contemptibly woebegone weakling?
Or is something within me still like a beaten army, fleeing in disorder from victory already achieved?

Who am I? They mock me, these lonely questions of mine.
Whoever I am, thou knowest, O God, I am thine.

Thanks jimbo ... there is still life left to fight back and I will not give up ... never ... thanks for the wake up call and thanks for the truth in love. God is good..... and I am His .. Amen

Reunion Dinner

This year, all of us were home for reunion dinner. Every year, it will just be 4 of us as my brother is working at UK. This year he managed to take leave to come celebrate Chinese New Year at home. One of my cousins also joined us for the reunion dinner as he was home alone.

I thank God for my family and for another year that we can be together. May this year be a great year for all of us.

I want to be alive again this year ... to have the zeal again to excel in what I do and passion for my work and my masters program. I think somewhere in 2005 I had died and was just going through life like a zombie. I just feel so numb to the things around me. I was just working out of spinal reflex and I didn't care about anything. I was dead. It is time to be alive again. I had a really great chat with a dear friend (more like a brother actually) on Friday about the state I was in. He was the one who pointed out the state I was in and he cared enough to tell me the truth in love. It was tough but the healing started ... my heart started to beat again, blood started flowing through my veins again and slowly but surely God breath life into me again. The fighter within is revived again. Yes it is worth it.

Those who know me ... do keep me in prayers ... thanks ....

Home sweet home...

It is so good to be home. As usual today is our yearly last minute house cleaning before we have the reunion dinner at night. We had to clean the windows, mosquito nets, fans, toilets, etc ... the list goes on and on. This year my bro is back from UK, so there is an extra hand to help get the job done. Anyway I snapped some pictures from my house back in Seremban ...
